In The Dark

Ah, the fun times of typing silly needless things on my student blog. I don't even know why I titled this "In the Dark". Oh well. So now I am going to list the top five strangest things anyone has ever said to me.
5. "You have long forearms."
4. "Yeah! Cuz he's the gingerbread man. You can eat him. He's tasty."
3. "Just now, you could have smashed your head into the cage if you weren't holding on."
2. "Would you ever wash your hair with dog shampoo if you had to?"
1. "Look! It's a ghost! For real this time I think!!"

And that is all for now.

57 Days Left!!(I think)

There's only fifty-seven days until I can leave again! I'm so excited, it's not even funny. Except...I work today. Oh no. Oh well, I suppose I'm making cash, so it's not all that bad. But the thing is, I've got a headache, and I feel a bit nauseated, and my face is pale. And my nose bled this morning for no reason. Yeah. I was just doing my hair, and blood came out of my face. Strange. Plus the dark circles ever-darkening under my eyes aren't too attractive, I don't think. But I've been taking some calcium/Vitamin C/Multi-Vitamin/Advil(for the headache) so the sun should come out soon I hope. I'm designing awesome pants too! So that's cool.

Tacks for Snacks

I am so hungry right now. Almost hungry enough to have Nails for Breakfast, Tacks for Snacks. Like Panic! At the Disco. Yeah. That's a song. A good one. Anyways, I am really hungry though. And there's still FIFTEEN MINUTES LEFT!! Ah well. My aching stomach will just have to eat itself for a little while more.
But for now, I will quote Colour in Conflict. Oh, alright, this is a complete and utter advertisement of their new CD. (Under the Affluence, in case you were wondering.)
"Come see, come see, let curtains rise
Upon our scene, before your eyes
Will be revealed what lurks beneath-
What weeps and wails and gnashes teeth-
A mask of smiles, a rich pretense,
A devil cloaked in decadence.
So, curtains, rise and show us hence
What's underneath the affluence..."
Yeah, it's pretty awesome. So is the music. If you're into awesomeness, that is. Which I happen to be.

You're Dead, So Now What?

This day is not that fun. But it's not that bad, I suppose. Everything's sad, sad, sad. Sad like the clouds that are crying today. Sad like Elphaba when Nessarose got pretty red magic shoes and she didn't. Sad like the animals are when they get needles in them against their wishes to remain separate from petty human affairs, thank you very much.
Well, enough of those similes. If you take the "i" out of similes, you get smiles. But I don't think these similes I've provided are generating very many smiles from the readers. Oh well.

New New New Everything is New Except the Year

I got a new haircut
I'm gonna get new contacts
I got a new book last night from Cole's

And so everything is new new new except the year! But that's not in too long either...

I work today and I'll make money! Hooray for that.

PLAIN WHITE T'S

"There's only

ONE thing
TWO do
THREE words
FOUR you

I love you"

Yes, I got a new CD a couple days ago, and yes, it is Plain White T's. It's very good. In fact, I have to say I prefer it to their last CD. Why am I capitalizing the letters "cd"? I don't know, I'm tired, OK? (ditto for the letters "ok")
Today, I wore a black dress from the nineties over black skinny jeans. Yep, I did just that. And I feel pretty good about myself right now too.
Well, it is almost three o'clock. I am excited to go home and do chores such as sweeping and mopping and vacuuming my lovely trailer. :)

Life is One Big Harmonica Solo

Well, the first dance of the school year was quite enjoyable for me. When I first got to the school, hardly anyone was there, in fact no one came until about seven thirty. But everything went very well actually. I wore a pink dress that is my mom's bridesmaid dress for my auntie Fran's wedding of two weeks ago. I am pretty sure everyone found it nice. I felt like Cinderella, because just forty-five minutes before I went to the dance, I was working like crazy at my job, and feeling flustered at making mistakes again and again. But I met a lot of nice understanding customers who made me feel good. Anyways. Back to the Cinderella dance. It was actually a harvest dance, so everyone else was wearing jeans or Daisy Dukes and plaid shirts while I was wearing Barbie's prom dress. :) But oh well, I like it so I guess I don't care that much at all.
I actually danced the whole night without feeling self-conscious at all! (with exception to the first ten minutes of the dance when I wasn't "in the moment" yet) And I actually, for the first time since grade eight, got to slow dance with people of the opposite sex, rather than dancing with the female exchange student. Don't get me wrong, that was SO COOL. Because I like her; she's awesome. Love that accent! But it was nice to dance with a boy for once. ha ha
All in all, my dance was the best so far! Ever, in fact. And when I got home and took off that dress, and looked at it for awhile, I smiled as I thought about my night. Then I looked at the top of my right hand, where a faded purple "x" still somberly stared at me. After thanking the God of Cinderella dances, I dimmed the old oil lamp and went to sleep, where visions of dancing the night away with foreign exchange students and actual boys danced in my dreams.
Kirstin
By the way, just kidding about the oil lamp. Although my television channels are that of a peasant, I do in fact have electricity.

Blog of the Great Eighty Days

This is the ultra short blog of the last eighty days. Yes, it's true, there are only eighty days until I can go back to Chetwynd for two whole weeks. Not that that's long enough at all.
But oh well.

I Will Follow You Into The Dark

"Love of mine, someday you will die
But I'll be close behind
I'll follow you into the dark

No blinding light or tunnels to gates of white
Just our hands clasped so tight
Waiting for the hint of a spark

If Heaven and Hell decide
That they both are satisfied
Illuminate the no's on their vacancy signs

If there's no one beside you
When your soul embarks
Then I'll follow you into the dark."

This is from one of my favourite movies, The Invisible. And it is one of my favourite songs. So sad, so sad.

Sincerely,

Ten To Three

An Aquamarine Blue Boy

What would it be like if there were an Aquamarine Blue Boy? And a Violet Villain? Or perhaps even a Golden Girl? These questions and many more play across all of our minds from time to time, and today these characters just happened to waltz into mine.
Yes, I realize it is only 11:58 am, a little early to be thinking about Violet Villains and such, but it has got to be 8:00 somewhere. I also realize that you broke a date with a daydream in order to read this little write-up of mine, so I will try to entertain you with my thoughts on this matter.
First of all, I must emphasize this important fact on the issue: these people are real. For you see, I do not waste my precious time speaking of children of the rainbow who do not exist. In fact, quite the opposite. And let me be the first to point out, Rose Ringleaders are not real. At least, not in any rainbows I can see.
Myths and legends have been told about rainbows in the past years, but I am here to tell you that most of them are untrue. What I speak is no word of a lie.
These people exist, just like you and I do. However, they prefer not to see us most of the time. If you are wondering why, just take a look at the crazy antics of our human race. Why, some of us are so close-minded that we actually care what colour others are.
So please take it upon yourselves to do a rain dance today to appease the children of the rainbow.

In Times Of Need, Consult The Artistic Vomit (Ready, Set, Puke!)

I have been without inspiration for a while, but no worries! I have overcome my obstacle. But first, an apology is in order. I am sorry to anyone whom I complained to about being tired and not knowing what to do with myself. Because it is all over now! For a little bit, at least. As soon as I drew a picture with Isaac and Kelsey, my inspiration was flowing through my veins once again. And the Artistic Vomit helped me through a lot too of course. It was conceived on that very day...and I gave birth to it with the picture that is now on Isaac's wall next to the door.
Currently, the Artistic Vomit is living within us all, just waiting to be projected into a garbage can or a toilet or even onto a painting. And those carrots you ate yesterday for supper couldn't hurt, they just add texture!
So everyone, I implore you, allow the Artistic Vomit to cleanse you. How? Find a comfortable space, preferably not carpet. Stand at least one metre away from your AV Buddy(AV Buddies are strongly recommended). Place a piece of paper or canvas in front of both of you. And now, the fun begins!! Ready, Set, Puke!

Artistically yours,
The Green Child of Texture

A Very Purple Summer...

Well, my summer was spectacular! I met a few wonderful people whom I am quite close to. I spent most of my time in Chetwynd as usual, and met Sara, Frankie, Darrin, Ryan, Sam, Cassy, Terry, Ryan D, and Bryce. They are awesome people to know!! I doubled and tripled on a bike for the first time with Frankie and Ryan. It was intense. I got bruises on the insides of my knees from hitting them against the seat. Also, I scraped my leg on the left pedal, which hurt. In fact, that scar has been quite stubborn and is not going away. But it was all worth it! Because in the blistering five weeks I spent in Chetwynd, I found awesome people to share my love with.
Also, I had a CRAZY baking day when I made cherry cheese pie, fruit salad, blueberry muffins, and chocolate dipped strawberries. Then I called over Frankie, Darrin, and Ryan so they would eat it. And I think they enjoyed that.
On another note, Frankie and I created our own constellation! It is a big triangle in the sky...made up of four stars. The tentative name is the Triangle of Zorgoth. Because Frankie was put on the spot so he just made up that name in his head real quick. :)
Also, on the night we made our constellation, we saw...four UFO's!!! It was inspirational. By the way, we created our Triangle from Sara's Roof. I have capitalized Roof because I think that Roof is vital to my summer story. So Roof is basically like a person.
I went to a music festival and hung out with the awesome band Colour in Conflict!! I bought a pentagram ring for $20. And I also purchased a pink and blue parasol!! But then Keifer kind of broke it...oh well. But for future reference everyone: NEVER hand anything to Keifer. EVER.
So anyways. I met a very talented and very attractive band, called Last Day Lost. They were all very cool and so I got their t-shirt, CD, poster, and I got them to autograph the CD and Brittany and I got two pictures with them!! AND....I got a HENNA TATTOO on my hand!! It was awesome.
However, for a few weeks, my soul lacked one thing: Gabby. But finally, she came home! And I threw her a welcome back party!! And I made her a poster while Brittany, Ryan, and Frankie played Truth or Dare Jenga or something of the sort. It was very fun.
When I met Ryan D and Bryce, my dad and their assorted family were watching UFC. But we were not that interested in that, so we read Dr. Seuss!!! Ryan read THERE'S A WOCKET IN MY POCKET to us!!! And then we played UNO!!! And THEN....Ryan did a TAROT READING ON ME!!! (By the way, now I have a deck of Tarot cards and they are hours and hours of fun!)
I met Willie at 7-11. He is a worker there. Brittany and I asked for a dozen wedges there once, and while he was talking to us, he just kept scooping wedges in the box. And after he was finished, there were TWENTY-FOUR wedges in there. He's pretty cool, I must say.
So all in all, my summer was just GREAT GREAT GREAT. And I am not being sarcastic in any way. But in the future, I probably will be-just so you know.
Sincerely,
The Purple Girl
